'The Chinese' is a gangster-political romance, inspired by fragments of film scripts by Jean-Luc Godard 'Demons' by Fiodor Dostoevsky and actors' improvisations. A group of researchers from the Reconstruction Laboratory works on political strategies and utopias from the past. By reconstructing and processing the revolutionary archive, the characters ask about the legacy of the left and today's potential for social change. What was left of the ideals of student revolt in 1968? What is the place for left-wing movement when right-wing took over social demands? Is the old left and right division still justified? What form of political engagement is possible within the space of culture?
